Philanthropic Support
Two major philanthropic foundations generously support our core annual operating expenses:
Since 2024, The Koum Family Foundation has provided operating expenses for our UC Davis program. Koum also funded our expansion to UC Berkeley starting spring, 2026.
The Koret Foundation is also providing operating expenses for our UC Davis program, starting in 2025. This additional support has allowed us to maintain an appropriate funding rate amidst increasing demand for our program.
The Koum Family Foundation has enabled us to expand our seed grants to include supplemental funding support for undergraduate researchers, extending our training to the students just beginning their journey as scientific investigators.

The UC Davis Office of Research provided matching funds that helped jumpstart our program. The office continues to contribute administrative services for the UC Davis campus program.
